How much will repair to the car cost?

If it was my wall then I would feel morally responsible to make good act of god or not.

The amount of course in all truth would influence that. If we're talking a few hundred pounds then I would get it done-thousands different-simply haven't got it.

If the neighbour loses his no claims bonus over this then he/ she won't be happy. Nothing worse than awkward neighbours.

Just had a re-read and it was written that the damage is cosmetic. Either way bodyshops will give a free quote.

So, your morals have a price?

Up to the limit of my bank balance yes. Which is reasonable.

    Can't pay what I haven't got.

The damage is just cosmetic, I don't think he will bother to claim his own insurance.

Surely this is the post that sums the situation up?

I was told that he did not accept my position and he THOUGHT that I need to have insurance coverage for public liability for this kind of incident.

If he thought he was a fluffy pink bunny from Alpha Centauri would that mean he was?
Most surprisingly, I was told that my wall has collapsed 10 years ago in the same way. I only owned this house for two years, and the previous owner owned it for another 5-6 years. So neither of us knew the previous incident.
What happened then is irrelevant, he would have to prove that you knew the wall's condition was dodgy (or at least you ought to have known) but did nothing about it.
Does this change the scenario if he or his insurer bring my to the court?
His insurer is unlikely to be so silly. If he says tries to demand compo pass it to your buildings insurers.
