Haggling on already discounted car

I'm taking a used car for a drive tomorrow. It's a main dealer, so car is "approved used", and comes with a 12 month manufacturer warranty. On the dealer website the car is already listed as discounted from £7000 to £6444, which to be fair is not very far off cars of similar spec from other large dealers. I know that the salesman will tell me he can't discount any more than that, but do I stand any chance of knocking anything off that? If not, is there something else I could ask for, maybe an extension to the warranty etc?
I have no experience haggling for consumer goods. I saw a thread some time ago dealing specifically with car buying and tips for haggling, but now can't find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Just had a look at Parkers. They value the car at £5920, though that's assuming 50k miles. This car has slightly less, 33k.0

Just say you feel this is still more than you want to pay, what can he do to improve it. If he says he cannot drop the price, then try free servicing etc. even a full tank of fuel is better than nothing.
When he says no, be prepared to walk away. If he lets you leave the premises without chasing after you and "improving his offer", and you still want the car at the price on offer, then go back and buy it for that. He's not going to turn round and tell you the original offer is no longer on the table.Optimists see a glass half full

Ofcourse you can haggle - they can say know if they are not interested.
Although an experienced salesman versus a novice haggler who's just read some tips online isn't a good combination. To him, he will be asking himself, if I say know can I still get the sale?!0
