LL and EA delay and refuse repairs

    My property once failed to get its gas safety certificate as the ignition on the hob was broken, I was informed if it wasn't designed to self ignite it was fine, it was designed to self ignite and was unable to it was an automatic fail. It didn't cost much at all to fix, it was certainly cheaper than buying a tenant a stick lighter every few weeks. You also have to consider that it can be quite dangerous to use one, especially if you have more than one pan on the hob. My gran has a non-igniting hob and if there are any pans on the hob you have to remove them before lighting another ring, not convenient and in certain cases can be a bit dodgy.

    The landlord has agreed that all appliances should be in working order in his/her contract, therefore the landlord is required to repair or replace your hob.
