Sky Hub connection

Options
As O2 internet was taken over by Sky, I received new Sky hub (router?)!

Previously when I connected, I needed connection name and a password.

But in this Sky box, they gave me details of

Connection name
Password (alphabetic)
PIN (numeric)

In a Windows 7 computer, it asked password.

In a Windows Vista computer, it asked PIN.

In iPad, it asked password. Haven't tried my mobile phone yet.

So, what is the difference between password and PIN?

PS: The hub doesn't have any on/off switch of its own!
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

The username and passwords in Sky routers are built into the software.
You only need a password or pin for wifi., not then if you use the wps button with compatable devices.
Routers are designed to be left on 24/7, no need for on off switch, it has a rest button.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
