Please can anyone help I have a new job where I'm paid in US dollars and I want an account where I'm not robbed by the bank with exchange rate fees of 3% every month.

Robbed?
Most dollar accounts have fees... Because you will be converting to sterling if you spend in the UK.
You rarely get ought for nought.:hello:0 -
There is always a transaction fee for conversion, what you need is to find the bank with the best rate.
You also need to compare the exchange rates so look at the overall picture and not just one over the other.0 -

Most UK banks have USD current accounts, though they might want to do them via IoM or Channel Islands etc. I used to maintain a USD bank in the UK and I generally got near the interbank rate when switching funds to my GBP account at the same branch.0

If you just want to deposit US dollars into a USD account and be able to write cheques against it then Citibank in London is quite good. Not so good for currency conversion though.0
