90cm or 100cm Range cooker?

I can't decide which to go for. We're a family of 5 so the 100 would make more sense, but we're hoping to move from here soon (3ish yrs hopefully). The kitchen needs updating to sell it for what we would like to (£180k as opposed to £167k)
So with that in mind, what would you buy? It'll be dual fuel.

do you believe updating the kitchen will add 13 grand to the house value?
what is the functional difference of the extra width? ie. why would 100 v 90cm make sense for a family of 5?
will 10cm make any difference to how you can use the thing?
will that 10 cm compromise the rest of the kitchen (cost/utility) ?
how much extra does an extra 10cm cost?
you need to answer those questions surely? and only you know the answers....0 -

Not just a kitchen, new flooring, new front door & new bathroom then it will be £180k. We got this house cheap as it needed a lot doing to it.
1. Sometimes the difference between a 100 & 90 is 40% of oven space. So means you could cook more things like a roast at different temps at once.
2. I don't know, I currently have a 60cm one with a grill over the top.
3. The difference is about £250
I just really wanted to know if anyone had a 90 and they wished they had bigger, or if a 90 was big enough for them or if they had a 100 and never used it all so would have got a smaller one had they knownWhat's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -

we have one that is 100cm.
It is a good oven but much too big for our small kitchen (prev owners fitted it - i would defo take your kitchen size into consideration.
We are only 2 adults + toddler so i'd much prefer a smaller oven. Is your house likely to be purchased by a family of 5 who need a big oven? ie. is it a 4 bedroom house0 -
It's a 3 bed houseWhat's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

In our last-but-one house we bought a 90cm range cooker. We were a family of three that did a fair amount of cooking/baking/entertaining etc and we soon realised that a) we needed a larger hob/oven space and b) for the size of kitchen (large) and house (six-bed) the range was disproportionately small.
As a result we upgraded to a 110cm which is what we currently have and even though there's only the two of us at home now we still get good use out of the extra cooking space the 110 provides
For a larger family I would think the larger the range the better.....but I wouldn't assume updating the kitchen/house will add value, although it should increase saleability........voice of experience here, lolMortgage-free for fourteen years!

We recently went with a Smeg 100cm one.
Jesus wept you could live in it!
I had some really nice baking trays only to bring them home and find they woudln't fit in our old oven, kept em anyway as they were cheap.
Managed to fit 2 trays and a pizza on one shelf in the new one!
More than happy with it, will be fantastic whenever we do like christmas dinner or owt.0 -
900mm will be more than adequate.
5 in our house.
More than enough for us.. (It's a 900 wide Rangemaster...... Dual Fuel... Love It !!)..... and got it on sale !!!0 -
i have the 100 size. only me and hubby living at home but we have regular visits and "sunday lunch" from daughters. I def like the 100, mine has a gas 5 ring hob, a separate grill, a square oven and a long tall oven with a plate warmer thing in it.
the 100 is a godsend at xmas etc cos I have plenty of space to do roast veg/potatoes/roasts and keep plates warm.
if it suits for space and budget I would recommend the 1000
