Amazon gift card - Clintons say they wont refund!

Bought a gift card on 11th Feb. Hubby tried to activate it but it wouldn't work. Phoned Clintons to report and was advised that if I had an activated receipt there's nothing they can do. What are my rights? I'm going there in person and would like to know where I stand before I get there and they bamboozle me!! Lol Is my issue with Clintons or Amazon? Can they refuse to refund? If so what do i do next
Thank you.

No point going to the store as you wont get anywhere with it. Call Clintons head office and give them the recipt number and the card number and take it from there0

Never accept a company telling you 'there's nothing we can do'. That's pure bullying in my book - there's plenty they can do, they're simply trying to get rid of the problem. You purchased a product that is unfit for purpose and are legally due a refund.
This shouldn't be a Head Office issue, the store is fully responsible - you paid them and the contract is with them, not head office or Amazon.
Don't let them make it YOUR problem!0 -
If you bought it on the 11th you need to find out when it was activated, if it was activated after you bought it then they will do nothing.0

The store are not going to go through ascertaining whether it has been activated or not. Head Office will be able to ascertain this.neiljfellows wrote: »Never accept a company telling you 'there's nothing we can do'. As for the contract being with the store and not Head office - absolute rubbish.0 -
