Hi, could anybody tell me what 'MY' means in an advert? i.e a car is advertised as 2003MY.

It denotes 'model year', which in turns means you can check the spec' the car will have on it - as actual detailed specification is what is defined between model years.
There can be several my's within a calendar year, for instance on Fords there are current 2007.25, 2007.5 my'rs etc, each denoting changes to specification such as SMax's built since 7th May have ESP added as a standard item.
It is a measure of what production model the car dates back to.“Official Company Representative

Thanks for that0

You might also see models refered to as, say, 2006 1/2, again, to indicate a change in specification/trim levels.
