Can i report a forum that has been taken over to anyone? Also i am now getting really offensive emails from the forum (obviously from these idiots). On forum they say "www.krewsforum.net, we are a scripting based site for habbo hotel but okeR got this ****** forum so we felt like ******* it over thanks for having us. " .
It is an inoffensive little 80s pop group site . The emails are so bad i can't let my kids check emails anymore. What can i do?

erm block emails from that site?0
-
just managed that after ages trying(i had deleted my junk folder completely and thus messages blocked had nowhere to go!)
Can they hack into my other things?0 -
people can hack into anything if they have the skill and determination. What in particular are you concerned about?0

If they have hacked the forum then they will have access to all of your details that you supplied when you registered with the forum. They therefore have your e-mail address, username and possibly your password, depending on how it's stored.
Make sure use the same username/password combination anywhere else; other than that, you should be safe.
As for the e-mail, there's not much you can do except use spam filtering or change your address. Blocking e-mail from that site will only work if they don't spoof the 'from' address, which is unlikely.0 -

I have now changed all passwords that are the same as on that site.0 -
unless you had the same username/password or had your credit card details there I wouldn't worry.0

If you are using email direct to your PC then may I suggest that you download Mailwasher. See here;
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/free-anti-virus-software
You can then set it to start as soon as the PC does and allow you to check your email on the server BEFORE downloading it. Dramatically reduces SPAM and nasties.
Go online to your email provider and set up rules to delete emails from the forum.
Go into the user settings on the affected forum and put a rubbish email address on there for personal contact.

Forum takeovers are usually script kiddies.
Was the forum PHP BB by any chance? When a forum has a hole, a hacker explooits and publishes it. Loads of script kiddies hack it, then a new update is realeased, patches the hole, and the hackers look for a new one.
Make sure you keep the forum up to date if its yours to stop it happening again![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Not actually totally true, likley hood is they are stored onto a database , well dunno bout this site, but anyways people can hack into sites but alot of them dont get details of the users, unless the authors of the websites are complete noobs and leave it open0
