Getting a car - Some questions

Hi all,
we are finally getting a car! Fed up of years and years of using public transport. I have a few questions - can experiened drivers here please help answer them?

1. What should I do if we are involved in an accident ?
a) Our faut
b) The other party's fault
c) Dispute

2. We live in a reasonably safe area. Do I need to buy a car cover?

3. Will there be jerks who deliberately try to cause an accident so that they can have their car written off? If yes, how to spot them? How to avoid them ?

4. Motorway driving. Is it okay if we see some videos about motorway driving and go? Or do we need a motorway course? My husband will be driving. He is an experienced driver (international) but he's never driven in this country. Passed the test just last month

    My tuppence worth:

    1) The simplest, safest advice is to contact your insurance company in all cases.

    2) No.

    3) If you always follow rule 126 of the highway code this will never be a problem.

    4) Motorways aren't really different to other dual carriageways, but a single motorway lesson wouldn't cost much, and might be worth it just to remove any anxiety.

    Happy driving :).

Have you got insurance quotes? If your young £2000 or £3000 is common. Even if the car cost £600. I did a quote for my daughter on a £600 freelander. £5800 was the cheapest quote.

Accidents. Just give them your insurance details. And let the insurance do what you paid them to.

Car covers are a pain in the backside. Where do you store a dirty wet cover?
How do you remove it without getting dirty and wet?

If you dont know how to drive on the motorway get lessons. And just keep to the left hand lane until your used to the speed and how other behave.

Fit a carcam if your worried about accident scams. Drive defensively. Get advanced lessons.

Car covers tend to encourage mould and corrosion, in my experience.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
