Gas board replacing steel pipeline

I had someone call today, to inform us that the gas board, presume transco, man didn't say as he was in a rush, was going to change the pipework, from the house and down the path to the public path at the bottom of our garden. When i asked if they were going to redo the concrete path, he said they wouldn't be doing this. Are they allowed to dig up my concrete path without replacing it?

I think you will find it will be replaced, but not by a Transco but a subby of theirs
I guess rushed phone call is the problem here, you will obviously need to seek clarification if you can find out who it was who phonedWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
Normally they push a flexible plastic pipe inside the old rusting iron ones ... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/554988 will probably answer your concerns?0

Yes that's what they will do.
Probably have to dig a big hole at either end to make the connection though.

Transco ceased to exist about 10 years ago, its National Grid Gas now. Anyone purporting to be from Transco, don't allow them near your house.Could HAVE. Should HAVE. Would HAVE. Not OF.0

They are used to it. They will dig up and replace whatever is necessary.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I ve seen a lot of this on my rounds, they dont mess up your paths and most of the time they put the gas meter outside free of charge0
