David Lloyds asking for money for free months

Hi
Myself and my girlfriend signed up to David Lloyds Gym last August on a couple's membership as part of their 2 months free deal (pay for 10 get 2 free). We paid for the full year's membership upfront rather than on the monthly contract.
Recently we have been receiving emails from David Lloyd's saying we had outstanding payments.
We went down to David Lloyds and queried what this payments were and were told they appeared to be made in error and someone would phone us and sort it out.
We just received a phone call and were told the payments are for the final two months which are supposed to be free. They refused to discuss the payments any further and told us we have to pay them.
We signed a contract and paid the full amount on that contract up front. They are now asking for an extra £230+ saying they made a error on the contract.
Just to confirm, we have a copy of the contract with all 3 signatures, the amount (as paid) and the length of contract noted.
What should we do?

So your copy of the contract states 12 month contract, pay for 10, receive 2 months free ???0

It just says 12 month contract and the amount owed (and written on the contract by David Lloyds) was calculated to reflect the 2 months free.
They have now blocked our gym access cards until we pay the amount apparently even though the months they say we owe money for are June and July 2014.0 -

What was the amount you agreed for the 12 month contract? Does that match what has been written on the contract?
If so, they cannot retrospectively change the terms you agreed to.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
If they don't unblock your cards and honour the contract then send a letter before action to get a full refund.
Send a letter to head office telling them they are breaching the contract and they must remedy this forthwith before you take further action.0
