I've had a look around on this site already but I'm still a bit confused so any advice would be great-
I pay gas and elec on the key/card top up option. I'm with Scottish Hydro and have been for 6 years (On key and card for the past 4).
I pay about £30-35 a week for both at the moment and I really feel like I'm spending too much on it, so I'm wanting to swap to direct debit/quarterly.
I called Scottish Hydro and they said they'd put me onto direct debit, but I'd need to pay £52 for that privilege.
I was wondering what my options would look like if I wanted to swap to another company and pay DD/quarterly.
(I am not very well off, but I have a good credit rating)
Thank you

Amy you do not give much information. Are you in rented or own your own property? Pay meters are dearer for fuel than DD online.
Each area for fuel cost is different.
Try phoning a diffrent company and ask for there info on removing the pay meters. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
You'll save more than £52 in your first year if you switch to a credit meter and start paying by direct debit on cheapest tariffs. You will also have access to more fixed deals - so will be saving more than £52 next year.0
