X-rays

Okay so collie has been to the vets for the day yesterday for all his x-rays
Good news is it's not cancer
So we just dealing with arthritis in his shoulder but I'm sure its other places too that hasn't shown up yet
He has some antibiotics because he had three teeth out and have to have two tablets trocoxil yesterday and 2 in a fortnight then see vet day after
So they are some new long lasting drug to try, £60 for 4 tablets !!!

Well that's an enormous relief, I hope the vet can help minimise the discomfort from the arthritis for him!

  • Glad to hear it's not cancer and here's hoping your Vet can come up with a good treatment plan. Something that may be worth asking about is Cartrophen injections. I know of a few dogs who've had them and had fabulous results.

Apparently these tablets I've got are supposed to be better than injections so we shall see
At the moment he's worse than when he went which I'm annoyed about!

Glad you've got a diagnosis, and that it's not too sinister.

They'll have had to manipulate him around a bit for his x-rays so he may well be a bit more sore, hopefully his tablets will kick in soon.

You could always look into the cost of getting a prescription and buying the tablets online from somewhere like Animed Direct or VetUK, you may save some money if you have to use them long-term.

I'm hoping the insurance is going to cover it,they are just so slow lol once I've paid this 1st claim then my vets will let more than pay them direct.he just looks really sorry for himself, not his usual playful self at all
