Elec overpayment rebate

Hi there,
we have just recieved our latest bill, and after much to-ing and fro-ing over the last fewe months, we have finally been told that we over paid by £451:eek:
Our Econ 7 meter was broken and we were only being charged the high rate:eek:
We are with Atlantic, and now our account is £451 in credit, what do you think our chances are of getting the money back? Does anyone have any experience of getting a rebate actually back in the form of cash/a cheque? We are in a rented property, so we may not be here long enough to 'use' £451 worth of elec.
What's the best way to tackle this? And who do I complain to if they don't want to give us the money back?
Thanks

Atlantic is part of SSE. From my experience of Southern, a sister co, no troble. The money is yours. I claimed at the end of my charging year for my DDs.0

take a reading and just ask, its you money, as long as the credit isnt estimated you'll get it backDMP with Payplan started 01/07/11
Starting debt £28,645
Current estimated DFD 01/11/2019
But I will get it over with sooner!!0 -
It's definately not estimated..... we are Economy 7, and since we moved in Aug last year, the meter had only been reading the normal rate, not the lower rate as well, so even overnight when were meant to get cheaper elec, we were being charged the higher rate. It has taken them until now to fix the meter and work out our rebate..... emailed them last week, and they said they'd get back to me in two days, nothing heard yet, so follow up phone call tomorrow morning

OMG, don't I feel like a fool for making a big deal out of this!?! Phoned Atlantic this morning, and the lady on the end of the phone just said...' the cheques in the post, it'll be 10 days':j
