Our first, of several trips to Istanbul was in November 2009.
We stayed a week, loved it, and barely scratched the surface.
Here's an enduring thread I started [as LancasterLad] on the TA Istanbul Forum on 'Our week on a shoestring in Istanbul...'. The thread is full of useful stuff...

As Littlereddevil says Istanbul is fabulous. But if you've only got a few days have a good plan of what you want to do.0 -
Here's the TA reviews I posted of a couple of excellent vfm hotels we've stayed at in Istanbul...

There are 100s of places to stay in Istanbul. If you're relying on TA reviews then you might have to read a lot between the lines and still choose the wrong one.0
