Tree Vs Car - Tree wins!

Hello,
Yesterday a tree fell down at my place of work. It fell onto a building which collapsed (it's a timber construction), and tree and building are now on top of my car. I'm pretty sure it's a write off.
It's nobody's fault, just the result of high winds and sodden soils - the trees were inspected last year. But I'm now wondering about claiming on my car insurance - or will there be any recourse through work.
Any thoughts? Thanks,
Jo_King

If you believe that it's nobody's fault and just the result of exceptional weather then your work are not liable.
I'm afraid you will need to claim on your insurance.
You'll have to pay the excess and declare the claim in future.
Just one of those things I'm afraid but that's exactly what your insurance is for.
At least you can console yourself that firstly you weren't in the car and also that you're insured.0 -
You will need to inform your insurer of the incident anyway. Let them deal with the claim. If your employer has been negligent by having a dodgy, about to fall down tree in the car park then the insurer may pursue a claim against them. But it sounds like you have just been a victim of storm damage.0
