Hi, Im hoping that someone will be able to offer some advise.
I have a Peugeot 206 LX 1.1 2000, Just had MOT and service.
I have noticed that when on the motorway and doing 50mph + the engine is starting to get very noisy. when doing 70 the revs are around 3500 - 3800 which is far more than they used to be with engine temperature also greatly increased from what is used to be at that speed.
60mph is bearable and the car seems happier at this speed.
Any ideas as to what the issue could and is there a easy way to explain this to the garage?
Thanks in advance.

The only way the engine revs can be higher, at a given speed in a given gear, than they used to be is if the clutch is slipping.
Having said that, are you sure the engine is revving faster than it used to? I have a 1.6 Pug 307 and it is geared at 20mph per 1000 in 5th which is 3500 at 70 mph. I would imagine a 1.1 206 would be geared similarly.0 -

Engine is defiantly a lot noisier with the engine temperature also greatly increased from what is used to be.0
