Internet disconnects for a few seconds and becomes slow

With Sky. My laptop is in another room as no phone socket in room with computer desk. Never had an issue until past couple of days.

My router is almost 4 years old.

Can anyone help in non techy terms?

Sorry but which is causing the problem the laptop or the desktop ? It may be due to wireless channel interference but your description is very vague.

although it is denied vigorously by companies, there has been a lot of coincidental reports of instability suddenly appearing when fibre is installed in the local street cabinet to check if fibre in installed pop your details in here

as I said this is an observation by a lot of people and is not just Sky customers who are getting this, and of course the companies have denied all knowledge of these problems
