Seller changed listing after sale.

Evening.

So I see a listing on eBay, a business seller if that makes a difference. Great thinks me, it's exactly what I'm looking for. It's listed on a buy it now, the postage charges clear on the listing.

I buy the item, they take my money. Two days later, they email to ask when I'll collect said item. No says me. Postage paid, please deliver. No they said, collect or pay an extra 40 and we'll deliver. They then changed the listing, by removing the postage option.

I've done nothing yet. Not entirely sure which route to take.

Am I covered by the sale of good act?
Is it legal for the business seller to change the terms of the sale after I've paid?

I have the email from eBay confirming the sale with postage and the payday email receipt as proof of what I paid. Both confirm postage.

What should I do?

Thanks

  • Either contact Ebay buy phone and explain the situation and see what they advise or raise an INR case and claim a refund, regulars on here will be along with better advice soon.
  • It sounds as though the seller didn't have postage charges set up but just as text in the listing?

The seller cannot change the listing after you have paid. If you go to "view order" you will see the listing as it was when you paid.

If the seller has cocked up and refuses to send there is not a lot that can be done to get the item.

You can raise an INR to get a refund. Then leave your displeasure in your feedback and stars along with refusing to cancel the sale.

Could it be you put a watch on it, but they changed it before you bid but after the watch.

I'd say from the OP it wasn't listed as they paid and were contacted after.
