I am out.
If you can't answer the "why are you in this share, when there are many thousands of shares around the world that you are not in" question, you should be out, and only have a nominal holding through a collective investment fund.
Verizon deal or not, this ought to be the standard answer to any "should I buy / should I keep share ABC plc? ".
Last year you could have at least said, well they might spin off VZ which is a huge part of their business and a game changer in terms of their fortunes thereafter. But, now they have finalised and announced the small print of that deal. So what is going to change from now on, to change the market value of the remaining business?
The only people with inside information on the deal are insiders, and they are not going to talk to you on a public forum, about why it is that you should buy or sell tomorrow.0 -
The share price hasn't really gone down, it's higher now than it was for most of last year.
But you will need to decide what you're doing in the next few days, as if you are holding at 6pm next Thu you may end up holding half the number of VOD shares as well as some VZ shares and some cash.
