Phone call re ppi

I have today had a phone call saying I was due PPI from RBS and Lloyds was mentioned although I have never banked with Lloyds but I have with RBS. I listened as I have not claimed any PPI. I was told that they would send paper work out to me but before they did this they needed to ask a couple of questions Question 1 was had I ever been bankrupt the answer was "NO" the next question was assumed that I was under 70. I said no I wasn't under 70. He then asked how old I was when I said 74 the phone was immediately cut off not even, sorry we cannot help you. Any one any idea why this was please?

  • It's probably a PPI claims company touting for business.

NEVER EVER give personal financial details (or even your age) to cold callers.
If you have a PPI complaint then make it yourself for free.

Normal scam technique. Mention the big ones and statistically its likely you are with them or they can steer it. e.g. you reply you are not with them but Santander. They would then say, sorry that is what I meant and joke it off.

You are not within the target market of their scam.
