Postage on an Item I bought

Am I being unreasonable here?
I bought a pair of shoes from ebay recently and the postage on the item was £6.75 for first class. When the item arrived it had been posted second class (recorded). I emailed the seller and had a reply stating that it had been posted second class due to the postage and packaging costs exceeding £6.75. I cannot believe that the postage and brown paper wrapping totalled over £6.75!
Can someone advise?

Maximum weight for 2nd class is 1000g @ £2.30 (£3.00/recorded) according to royalmail.com, 1st class for 1000g is £2.92 (£3.62/recorded). As they came 2nd class I assume they were under 1000g. £6.75 seems excessive, but was agreed upon by bidding. I would leave a positive (as they arrived and if you're happy with them) and state in your f/b that they were posted 2nd not 1st.
Only my opinion, happy to be proved wrong

Thanks for that advice, I had done exactly that :-)
I had just got a response saying the costs were for time and if I didnt like it not to bid... a bit late for that
Im very pleased with the item though :beer:A dAy WiThOuT wInE iS lIkE a DaY wItHoUt SuNsHiNe0 -
The point is kind of academic (you agree to the costs when you bid, blah blah blah) but I admit my curiosity is piqued. Did the postage label show the price for the stamps / postage she paid?My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I'm sure I'm not in the minority here but if I've made an error with my p&p costs (which I often do!) then I bear the loss.0

Quite right Rose. Inadvertently overpaying postage is one thing, paying for 1st and getting 2nd = a seller that takes the p!My TV is broken!
