Why not go into a bookies & stick it all on a horse if you like to gamble coz that's what stocks & shares are.

Get it into property as long as it's not on a flood plain.
  • I would strongly suggest looking into Index Tracker Funds (such as Vanguard) if you're turning to the stock markets.

They are low risk (compared to guessing/picking individual companies or sectors), take little management and importantly are low cost.

Savings and Investments Forum is here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=17 if you need more input.
  • gold worth looking at for mid to long term - point being, 1. don't put all your eggs in that basket. Far too volatile 2. there will come a point you can cash out, take it then, not when you expected if one is sooner than t'other. You're not buying at the top- in fact in a long term view there's a correction due on prices upwards, but be patient.
  • Lend £8,000 to me to pay my debts off at a repayment schedule of £50 per week for a period of time to be agreed with a interest rate of course. hahah:)
  • If this was last year, I'd have advised an investment in Netflix.
