Just got back on my feet from a big illness, to top it all during the illness I was lost my job now I am looking to invest some cash. I have approx £20k.
I talked to an adviser I know and have been told to keep some accessible and invest some for 5 years plus. Mentioned ISA's, either he can help with funds or guidance if I want to select my own. I must admit I do like the idea of selecting my own, the adviser was helpful last time.
I have done a risk questionnaire and come out as risk 4 out of 10. I haven't sat down with them yet to discuss funds further or companies, just thought I would get some background on ISA's etc before.
Thoughts anyone?

an ISA is simply a tax free way of investing :
depending upon the ISA manager you can put most things in it (cash, shares, ISFs, OEIC etc)
presumably you already have a property or have no plans to buy one or move in the next 5-10?0 -
Thats right. I want to keep it straightforward like my pension, general funds, nothing high flying or inventive!!0
