Argos Credit Card

Options
I have been trying to transfer my Argos Store Card to a 0% balance transfer credit card due to the ridiculous interest rate.

But when trying with Barclays and Lloyds it came as an invalid card number. Has anyone managed to transfer their argos card and know of any banks that will do it?

  • I don't think you can transfer a balance from an Argos Store Card to a Credit Card as I also came across problems with Capital One a couple years ago when trying to do the same thing.

You need a card that will pay cash into your current account (at 0% for up to 29 months), from where you can pay off the Argos card.

MBNA are the main provider of such cards, with fees ranging from 2% to 4% for 6 and 29 months 0% respectively.
  • You can process argos cards to a credit card, the formatting is just unusual. Confirm with argos the details required, then phone your credit card company.

I work for a card company and this comes up regularly.
