Nervous about completion

Just a general thread really, wondering how others have felt.
Despite all the stress of the past 14 weeks, i am finally due to complete next week. For some reason, i feel more worried/nervous than excited.
Everyone keeps saying how excited i must be etc, but if anything, i feel a little underwhelmed - just not sure why.
I had been searching for my first home for 2 years - involved a change of area and a change in circumstances - no longer with my partner who i expected to be buying with. Maybe that's why, or perhaps i am just drained of energy after the stress of house buying?!

I think you've hit the nail on the head there - it's been a long time getting to this point, and now you just want it to be ok. Once you get in, and it's yours, it'll be real, and you may even have a big cry! But that's normal, and then you'll be chufty chuffed chuffed

I think it is normal. My OH and I were shattered by the end of the experience. We drove to pick the keys in total silence feeling numb. The joy of it didn't really hit me until later on.0

Thanks so much, i really do feel like that. I think i just need everything to settle down and become 'normal' again. It's a strange feeling when you have waited for something for so long - not just the conveyancing and house hunting stage, but years of saving for a deposit.0

I went with my DD1 when she was completing on her house. She'd saved for years to buy this on her own. She ended up really down and quite teary. When I asked her why, she thought it was parting with so much money.
Two years on, she loves her home and is as happy as larry!
Good luck.0
