Converting youtube video to play in windows media player

Can anyone tell me how to convert a youtube file to play in windows media player?

I am a teacher with access to youtube in my own school but I have to work occassionally in a different school where youtube access isn't allowed. A colleague recently coverted a file for me and says it's easy - so how do I do it? !

You could try Youtube Download, link below. You can download from Youtube and convert to a number of other methods including Windows Media Player. If you go to CNet to download make sure you take the "Custom" method of installation then uncheck the boxes offering toolbars etcetra. You first have to download the video from you tube and once downloaded select the saved video and convert it to WMV. This is the totally free version. Make sure you don't get the "Pro" version as that is paid for.

Of course the above solutions are fine, assuming the video states that you can transcode it and play it in public....just playing the devil's advocate on this one
