HiI had a large area tiled the last two evenings. Tiler did 1 half first night, tiled other half last night and grouted the lot with grey grout. He told me to wash it over before bed to get rid of surface grout on tiles. This morning the grout looks patchy as if 2/3 is dry but 1/3 is darker as if it's wet.Am I panicking about nothing and it will all dry out the same colour? I thought it would all be dry now. Also, he's put a minging edging strip across the short step up into the kitchen. My DH told him the previous evening to show it to me but I first got to see it when it had already been laid. It looks cheap and tacky and doesn't match the tiles well.Does anyone know where I could get a good edging for a travertine colour tile, please?Ta

if grout mix was fairly wet it could well take longer to fully dry out. also a grey grout will show damp areas far more than white grout. don't panic all should be fine.0

Thanks TG. Will stop flapping now!0

Assuming your tiler wasn't using tile and grout type of adhesive, he should have allowed 24 hours before grouting to allow the adhesive to dry properly.0

As already stated, the grout will eventually all dry out - in some cases it will take 48 hours. It all depends on where the radiators are located and even air flow. It will be fine!
As for the strip, try Topps Tiles. They have a fairly good range, failing that, any DIY store. I can't imagine its one that fits under the tiles, it will be just a bit of pooky (adhesive) holding it on to the edge of the tiles, so 5mins of pulling and levering should have it up ready for the next strip to be laid. A few good blobs of silcone will keep it fixed in place if you don't have any pooky left over0
