i doubt there would be a fixed value, how often does it change/how big is it to begin with etc if the site remains static after it is built i would imagine that there will be a monthly cost to host price but then there will be additional costs for man hours for design/build/updates.

all depends on scale of what you want really...

as a freelance web designer.. (I'm a student and web design is something I love and do in my spare time.. - have a look at sonance for an example of my work.. )

It really depends on the work.. :) PM if you want an idea of what *I'd* charge..

It also depends on the company. They vary so much. If you got quotes from say 10 freelancers and 10 agencies - I bet you would get quotes ranging from about £100 - 10,000!!! I'm serious too.

A professional with a lot of experience will charge a HELL OF A LOT more than a freelance student like myself.. Often it's worth finding a friend or individual freelancer - as they will often need the work more than a company/agency would so will charge less - they will offer a more personalised service too - so will often produce the better work. Just because they don't do it full time doesn't mean they're not talented - and I'm not just saying this because I design - I have many friends who also web design and the ones that work for themselves and not for companies always produce the best value work :)

Not the most professional looking site though.

Try these guys, http://www.assertia.net. Friends from my uni days, not sure if they are still operating but it can't hurt trying to contact them.

Their site breaks in mozilla firefox with 1024*768.. if they can't even manage to make their homepage work in all browsers - or at least downgrade nicely - I wouldn't trust them to produce a professional website.. the design is smart but yeah crossbrowser is necessary!

    thanks for all your response.

i will get my own domain and hosting. just need the web pages done. probably wont be more than 15 pages and will be mostly information on the pages, so i guessed it's going to be static.

oh... probably need some ideas on the company's logo as well :)

lellie, i might take you on your offer. let me get some rough ideas of what i want in the website, etc.

Breaks down is a bit of an overexageration. One of their DIV tags is off on a few pages meaning the scroll window sticks out by 75 pixels, an easy change in the style sheet by the looks of how they coded it.

Like I said it's back from my days at uni and I don't think they have been maintaining or updating it, but worth contacting them if you can. Also, if you have a look at any of their client work you'll see it's cross browser compliant.

well yes.. I know it's only minor breakage - it suffers from broken box syndrome - (mozilla treats padding differently to IE) but there are 404s and things too - I understand it's old but it's about a good impression isn't it? The main page should work - and broken box is so well documented that designers should cater for it.
