ScottishPower IGT Contact?
I used the Energy Club to transfer our Gas and Electricity from OVO to NPower in late October. Npower claim they are now providing both Gas and Electricity, but we're still getting bills from OVO for the Gas, and they say NPower haven't yet taken over the supply. Npower say they have.
OK, no problem I thought - I'll ring Transco and find out from them who the supplier is. Turns out our gas pipes are provided by an IGT - Scottish Power Gas Ltd.
OK, then - I'll give them a ring. Trouble is, the only number I can find for them is 0141 567 4026, which seems to be constantly 'in use', which means I can't find out.
Tried ringing Citizens Advice, Ofgem, and just about every other number for Scottish Power, and no one seems to know (Ofgem won't even answer the phone!).
Anyone happen to have found a way round this before?
Thanks!
Kevin

Tranco's business is transporting Gas around the UK, they don't do the meters.
The Central Data Base of which Gas meter is where and which particular supplier is currently billing for the gas it uses, is run by Xsoserve - You can check directly with them by phone on 0870 608 1524
Their answer is definative - No supplier can bill for Gas unless they are the one registered with Xsoserve
It seems either OVO or n'power have screwed up badly
You must WRITE a letter headed Complaint to whichever one is not registered by Xsoserve, demanding re-payment of any monies paid to them0 -
Thanks - I'll give that a try!
EDIT - actually, nope, they are the ones that said they don't have access to the records of IGTs!0 -
Its true they dont, try the below form
http://www.sppowersystems.co.uk/pages/general_enquiry_form.aspDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
Has nPower billed you yet?
My money would be on nPower having made the !!!! up, if you've paid OVO then keep a copy of the bill and send it to nPower by recorded delivery. Keep the original safe.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -

Take it you have never lived on an IGT site?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
Kevin1911 - Have you actually spoken to Xoserve yourself ?
IGT's - Independant Gas Transporters only arrived after privatisation
When a new houseing estate is being developed, the builder faces a cost for having Gas Pipes laid to each property from the Gas grid.
An IGT becomes involved by doing the pipework at lower cost or even for free, then recoups the outlay/profit by chargeing a 'Toll" on the gas that passes from the Grid, to the householder through the IGT's pipework.
The Toll is collected by the gas supplier as an additional charge to their tariff , who pass the money back to the IGT
( Some of the usual suppliers refuse to take on customers with IGT pipework )
IGT pipes or not, your Gas Meter and it's current supplier should still be registered on the national data base0 -

Hi kevin1911,
Thanks for choosing npower as your energy provider
.
I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties you've encountered in trying to establish who your gas supplier is. I'd like to get this cleared up for you, so if you can drop me an email using the address from my profile with your details I'll take a look into this.
Thanks
Leigh
