Euro Car Parks - Penalty Charge

Firstly - I have read some of the threads and just wanted to clarify some things.
I received a Penalty Charge from Euro Car Parks at a Morrisons store this morning for not displaying a ticket (I know I'm an idiot, but I didn't have the £1 for the machine and I was only in the space 40 mins). I spent just shy of £10 in store too.
What should I do - should I just ignore all correspondence completely that I receive in regards to this penalty?
If not, will I win an appeal as I didn't display a ticket? Also, at what point do I begin the appeal process through the POPLA?
There's no cameras on this car park so I could I just say I don't know who the driver was? (I'm the registered keeper)
Any help or advice is appreciated...

You obviously missed this thread then which would answer all your questions : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0

you didnt say where it happened , so if it was in england wales you dont actually ignore, but if its a windscreen pcn then wait for the NTK in the post , then deal with it, as the RK can be held accountable due to POFA 2012
read this in the meantime https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/48168220 -
It was in Lancashire, England.
I'm not planning to give this firm any details whatsoever - but do the company send you the POPLA details? I've looked through the thread given for newbies but I can seem to find anything where it says whether this is so?
I have also kept my receipt, as I'm assuming Morrisons are the landowners, not Euro Car Parks...0 -
the PPC should send the popla details if and when you appeal the postal pcn as RK, if the PPC actually follow the BPA CoP that is (they often do not follow it and need prodding)
so wait for the postal pcn, then use thisDear xxxxx
As the registered keeper of (reg) I'm in receipt of your parking invoice xxxxxx dated xxxxxx. I wish to invoke your appeals process as all liability to your company is denied on the following:
1) The amount being claimed is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss to your company or the landowner
2) Your signage does not comply with the BPA Code of Practice
3) You are not the landowner and do not have the capacity to offer contracts or to bring a claim for trespass
These points and others will be raised with POPLA should you not accept this appeal, and you will be expected to provide a full breakdown of your alleged loss, and your full unredacted contract with the landowner.
If you do reject the challenge and insist on taking the matter further I must inform you that I may claim my expenses from you. The expenses I may claim are not exhaustive but may include the cost of stamps, envelopes, travel expenses, legal fees, etc. By continuing to pursue me you agree to pay these costs when I prevail.
Any communication that does not either confirm cancellation or include a POPLA verification code shall be reported to the BPA as a breach of their Code of Practice - the BPA recently issued guidance to all members to remind them of this fact. Such communication may also be deemed harassment and pursued accordingly.
dont assume anything at this stage, it may or may not be morrisons0 -
Thank you very much for the advice guys, I've never made a habit of this before and won't be doing again!
I'll let you know if it goes any further...0
