Hi,
Does anyone have any information regarding consumer rights on upholstery fabric? I Bought some in November and washed one of the covers once. The fabric has frayed so Badly I will have to recover it again. The fabric provider wants to see it but I think he is going to say there is nothing he can do because the fabric didn't get overlocked. The shop that made the covers up for me told me afterwards that the overlocker had broke!
Thanks
Helen

Well you already know why it fraid, your recourse is with the shop that made the covers.0

Was the fabric stated as washable because most are not and washing can cause problems to some fabrics.
As stated above it was probably wise to overlock the covers, maybe your recourse is to whoever made the covers for not overlocking them but did you ask them to?
I cant see how the retailer can be held responsible.0 -
Be very afrayed! The whole point of overlocking is to prevent fraying. If it hasn't been overlocked you will struggle with getting the fabric supplier to sort it I suspect. The place that made the covers are liable, they should have got the overlocker fixed!0
