iTunes doesn't use the MP3 format. As previous person suggested, Windows Media player is perfect for the job.

MP3's can't be played on a 'normal CD player'. They would need to be converted back to WAV files and then written.

Yes it does, click on Edit/Preferences/Advanced/Burning and you then get the choice to burn as an 'Audio CD' or as 'MP3'.

I always use iTunes since it is reliable.

doesn't xp do this anyway? I'm sure if you just drag the mp3 to the cd drive it asks if you want to burn a data or audio cd.

Thanks all - just used XP drag and copy which via Windows Media has done the job.
