• £1200 ÷ 8 = £150 per month for 9 months of which half would be warm months. That's one heck of a lot.

It is one heck of a lot probably because it is the expensive standard rate ... the gas wasn't even connected until late June and we never even switched on the central heating until sept/october as the house wasn't cold we only have a gas cooker which was why we are a bit shocked to say the least

You are always on deemed supplier and inevitably the highest standard tariff they have from day one that you move into the dwelling .. .. everyone in the UK is, its standard industry practice and has been for many years. You should the day you move in find out who supplies you, write down and photograph the meter reads, then :

- you immediately ask for their cheapest direct debit e-tariff and e-account
- 12 months in the year ask for CAC then ÷ 12 and pay a 12 equal payment plan from day one
- you supply meter reads via the net each month then neither you nor the supplier can take more money than you use
- that way you know exactly what's happening and it can't get out of control

Many including myself had the usual quarterly setup, since 2005 energy has inexorably risen year on hear, since 2010 domestic fuel and light prices prices have sky-rocketed out of control. The quarterly system is currently fine for those with sufficient backup banking funds spare and are able to pay in arrears having put away sufficient for that bill when it arrives. For many the luxury of anything other than CAC ÷ 12 is a risky venture when energy prices are out of the control of all of us including even governments.

Hi Helena, why didnt we receive a quarterly bill ? why did it take 8 months for the first bill to be produced ? couldnt go online as we never received a bill we didnt have an account number ? we were waiting for our first bill to then arrange a monthly direct debit and shop around for the best current deal, the cynic in me would say by not sending us a bill you tied us into your service and your expensive standard rate for 8 months !

I don't know because I can't see your account and is why I asked you the questions about what we had said when you contacted us?

Have you contacted us at all after requesting the pre-payment meters be removed? Have you provided us with any meter readings?

The welcome letter you received in nov/dec will have had your account number on, this is how you can register online.

I will be more than happy to help you with this and see if I can offer a payment arrangement, I was just trying to get the bottom of some of the issues first, but I'll be able to see when I go in to your account.

If you can email your full address and name to me at WebForumAdvisors@eonenergy.com I'll get on to it today.

Thank you
