Popla workshops for operators.

http://www.britishparking.co.uk/POPLA-workshops-for-operators

Over 12 months of POPLA have taught both AOS operators and BPA staff a great deal about all things POPLA – including how to construct a solid and persuasive evidence pack and how to proceed once you have won your appeal. Therefore we are planning some workshops in March to discuss best practice and talk through some of the problems we have all faced – including Genuine Pre-estimate of Loss.
We will be covering pre-POPLA activity, the appeal process and sharing ideas on how operators can be more successful at Court.

Seems like they don't like the effect of forum assisted appeals much what with these workshops and the feedback given by Greenslade in his coaching appeal GPEOL may have to be more rigorously defended.

It is also coincidental that PE after not caring if they lose at POPLA have defaulted from appeals recently by failing to submit evidence packs.

POPLA, about as independent as your left nut is to your right nut.
    Be happy...;)

Ah I see - POPLA the INDEPENDENT appeals service ??? My backside !!!!

This shows the BPA lied to the government and that POPLA are assisting PPCs to win cases.

A challenge to the BPA and POPLA - if the above isn't true then PM me and you can have my details to sue me for libel. You really are a bunch of lying crooks.

  • To be fair it's the BPA running them, not Popla.

Interesting that one of the venues listed for the workshop are the "offices of debt recovery plus"... If it looks like a cartel and smells like a cartel.....

I think it is slowly starting to dawn on ppcs that people and the courts are wising up to the scam. They must be worried.

I agree but one has to wonder who on earth thought that they were actually going to get away with this in the short, medium or long term? They've known for some time that the standard PPC business model was - with the most generous interpretation - founded on shifting sand and yet have continued the myth that everything in the garden is fine.

The AOS CoP has long made plain the necessity for PCN's to represent GPEOL and yet PPC's have chosen to ignore it in the, presumably, vain hope that it would go away. What is now being made obvious to the more casual observers is the fact that despite its posturing as a quasi-regulator the truth really is that the BPA Ltd is just a partisan, old-boy's club.

Mr Greenslade has already denied providing such training once. One wonders what his explanation for this will be?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
  • Since Parking Eye consider that the public has a 'vendetta' against it because it shares information on Internet forums then, by the same criteria, the BPA Ltd must be conducting a 'vendetta' against the public by secretly coaching its members to get round its own rules at the ' independent ' POPLA.

Id love to be a fly on the wall at one of these sessions!, its obvious they will say in the closed room that they know these GPEOL figures they give out are fake and how can they make them look more real.

Will see how they change things late spring.....

You say that. However we have seen the communications from the BPA Ltd which confirms that, in their mind, operational costs can be included in the "losses" that are claimed under GPEOL. As long as they continue to coach the PPCs to include such costs in their claim, all is goodness (for us).
  • They need to invite the courts to attend to persuade them as well otherwise this is just a jolly day out.
