I had this last week. I had to go into 'settings' (I use Chrome) and into advanced and untick a box which said 'use proxy'. Dont know what browser you are using but there was an issue recently which caused this."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

A proxy server is a third-party you connect to, accessing the internet indirectly through them. It can be a security risk as a malicious proxy server operator could analyse your web traffic to extract paswords, etc.
Certain malware can change your web browser's proxy settings. It would probably be a good idea to run a few scans to make sure you haven't been infected. :-)0 -

It says:
This page can't be displayed
•make sure the web address http:// is correct
•look for the page with your search engine
•refresh the page in a few minutes
But at the bottom if my screen, the wifi shows full bars and connected??0 -

Thanks PM, I use Internet explorer and looked in 'tools', then 'Internet options' and 'advanced' but couldn't see anything regarding proxys?
Thanks again0 -

I use AVG 2013 and also Malwarebytes and run them as habit twice a week, but found nothing?0 -

The instructions above were for Chrome. In IE if you go to Tools, Internet Options and pick Connections (not advanced) and Lan Settings you will see if there is a tick in the proxy box.0 -

Based on personal experience it will return. It's been discussed on here a few times recently. Here is one thread with a potential fix:
