Esa stopped with tax credits stop

My sisters partner has just been told today after a meeting that he will no longer be aloud to claim esa as he can work.
Obviously he will now have to start a claim for JSA, but in the meantime my sister is worried that she will end up having only £30 child benefit a week to survive on as she is sure she will have her tax credits stopped until the JSA is sorted.
I have told her this wont happen and she will continue to recieve tax credits but can anyone confirm this for me so I can put her mind at ease. Also does she need to inform tax credits of the change?
Thanks
