Have no idea what check system means. Honda Civic
I have a 2006 Honda Civic and have had no problems apart from one. Every now and again I get a message that comes up which looks likes steering wheel with an exclamation mark next to it and underneath it says check system
I haven't had time to take it into a garage but even if I did I would like to give them the impression I know what I am talking about
Does anyone know what this message means as when it comes up I can't move the car. I then have to turn the ignition off and turn it on again and carry this on until the message stops coming up
Any help greatfully recieved

Does the powersteering work when the light is on? Not something you want to fail.

What colour is this warning light?
I would not ignore it whatever colour but if red it's urgent.
It's a power steering problem, which could be as simple as just the reservoir needing topped up with the correct fluid.
You say you haven't had time to get it seen to - that could be a big mistake - it's a warning that you might regret ignoring it.
It could turn out to be very expensive if left - you could suffer a total failure if there is a serious leak.0 -
Wow, will have a look at the power steering fluid and see how much is in there then take it in. When it comes up the steering locks. And the warning light is amber
Looks like I'll be finding time to get it sorted!!0
