    "mortgage ticking time bomb"
"mortgages will be quite simply unaffordable" if/when rates rise
    "leading to defaults"
"Extortionately expensive mortgages including help to buy and your encouraging them to buy property at this time"

Osborne looked shellshocked, Lewis could of been a HPC member.

Easy snipes to make to score points. Far more difficult to address the historic issues that exist. I await Martin's ideas for reducing the debt bubble while still growing the economy. That's why Osborne's the Chancellor and Martin's a journalist. Mind you Gordon Brown's claim to fame was that of a financial journalist........

Martin Lewis is very good at generating hits and popularity for his businesses.

Making Osborne look silly is probably very low on his agenda.
  • Timebomb defused...
Mr Carney and his MPC colleagues will not return to Mervyn King's policy of institutionalised, formal silence on the direction of interest rates.

I expect him to say on Wednesday that he expects interest rates to remain at their current low levels for some considerable time. And to repeat that as and when they do rise, they will not return to the levels we took for granted as normal in the boom years.

He will continue to signal his conviction that the price of money will remain historically cheap for years to come, because the massive indebtedness of the UK means any recovery would be snuffed out by interest rates that only six years ago we would have regarded as unexceptional.

Or as Robert Peston just put it....
"A one-eyed monkey could look at the Bank of England's new forecast for inflation and confidently predict that interest rates will remain low for some time.”

How much has Osborne made for himself?

How did Osborne become chancellor and what relevant experience did he have. Did he run a successful commercial enterprise or have any deep financial or economic qualification?

Not really relavent. The people who have all the qualifications and experience are the ones that caused all the problems.
