tablet puirchase questions

Options
Decided to get a tablet and have some questions -

I quite like this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/iRulu-Android-Cortex-A7-Storage-Capacitive/dp/B00I0RT1NC - does anyone have any experience of Irulu Networking, it seems they are based in the USA but ship from UK.

Does anyone have any experience with Kocaso - there appears to be loads of them on Amazon - are they any good?

Thanks for any opinions and advice.

It depends on what you planning to do with it, play angry birds? it will be fine, send emails fine, bit of surfing OK but screens small and low resolution combined will mean quite a bit of scrolling around to see the pages, soon becomes tiresome but OK for a quick web search.

Watching movies will be OK but again screen will not be that nice and battery is smallish for a dual core device so you may not make it to the end of a long film!

Don't get too hung up on the 'brand' its just a typical Chinese tablet sold under a parent branding. You can contact many factories in China who will make you a pallet load of tablets with any brand name and logo you like printed on them.

Even Apple does this, people might be less sniffy if their ipads had the true manufacturers name on the back, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co :D

Looks utterly awful to me. Tablets have come a long way. 512mb RAM isn't great, the processor is ancient, the screen is low res, it doesn't support Flash like the description says, Flash has been discontinued for Android....
Spend twice as much to get a decent BRANDED one.

Yes because a branded one will be totally different, probably hand made by highly skilled craftsmen in a workshop in Cheshire from superior components..

How did you know mine was specially crafted from only the most superior of components and put together by a technician who lives in Alderley Edge. (Not really just be slightly sarcastic)

As they say you get what you pay for!!!

No sillygoose - but you'll not get 4 year old components parading as 'new'. This will be a slow device with poor battery life. Anyone with an Android 4.2 with 512MB RAM want to tell us how it's running?
OP hasn't said what they want it for.
OP if you do buy it please come back and tell us how it works.
Zavvi have the 2012 Nexus 7 32GB for £99.99 refurbished, free postage, which I think is much better value...

All I really would like a tablet for is for reading the ebooks I have, and maybe learning to program etc, so I don't really need anything fancy or fantoosh.

I just want to know if anyone has experience of buying from Irulu Networking, or experience of the Kocasa brand as they are all over Amazon.

Could someone suggest, perhaps, a suitable spec for a tablet?

    Thanks.

1GB RAM for Android 4+ and at least 4GB internal storage, before a card is added. The low res screen you can put up with, but the OS and apps, in the absence of an easy way to close them, will build up pretty quickly int he RAM through use.
