Speculative applications and JSAG.

Today, at the jobcentre while setting up a new JSAG, I was told that speculative applications DO NOT count towards my job search.

Is this the case? I've found such applications to yield results in the past.

Do not confuse real life and the JSAg.

Yes of course spec applications should be part of your job-seeking. Just because every different adviser has a different approach doesn't mean you shouldn't do what you think is right.

Just make sure you also provide the evidence the adviser wants

I think what they mean is, if they want you to apply for 6 jobs a week, that means 6 jobs that are being advertised, not you just sending 6 Cvs out to a business that may not even be looking for employees.

They will also want to see what else you are doing, so even if they tell you to apply for 6 jobs a week and maybe send out 3 Cvs a week too, you really want to try and do more than they ask to keep them happy, as you are meant to be looking for work full time, so at any point they could turn around to you and ask you to proof you have filled 6 hours a day job hunting, so sending out CVs is good as you can say you researched the company first and then sent the CVs, so a couple of hours work there, just make sure to do what's in your agreement tho, and as said more if you can.
