I think you may find that you are both incorrect.

    1. You can download TomTom, but it won't work, non of the keygenerators work, as TomTom is very secure. Plus you shouldn't be doing that as it is illegal!

    2. TomTom is available without a GPS unit

I use an iPaq 4150, with TomTom 3 and a Fortuna GPSmart bluetooth GPS unit, and I think it's great. I recommend a BT unit as you can put the reciever where the signal is strong and the PDA where it is accessable.
I can fit TomTom and the entire UK map onto a 128MB memory card.

If you choose a GPS unit that plugs into a memory slot on the PDA, make sure you get a PDA with 2 memory slots, so you can have your map in the other slot. If you don't you will be forever changing the maps around on the PDA.

I was refering to TomTom Mobile which you can't........ Apologies for lack of clarity

TomTom Mobile isn't (which, again, is what I was talking about.....). Apologies for misunderstanding

I think that TomTom is the best on the market. It seems a bit of a false economy to get the cheapest, which may not necessarily be the best.

No apologies needed. prehaps I should apologise as I hadn't even considered other version's

TomTom is indeed a market leader. I tried many ways of getting cheap sat nav on the iPaq. But then I found a sealed upgrade TomTom on ebay for £70ish, it is well worth the money. I'm waiting for TomTom 5 which is out soon.
