Quick question, is there a template to request the original policy documentation from a lender?

Here it is
"Dear Lender,
Can you please send me a copy of the original agreement policy for loan/credit card account number ----?
I enclose £1.
Yours sincerely
----"
Don't send this unless your account is still open, they won't send anything for closed accounts.
If your account is closed send a SAR letter and the £10 fee as advised elsewhere.0 -
Many thanks.
Have been reading bits and pieces this afternoon.
If I know the account numbers, am I able to just send a PPI refund request (the questionnaire) without requesting the original policy documents?0 -

Because I plan to claim refunds on 5 cards/loans, and I have no documentation on any of them.
However, 2 of these 5 I only 'think' sure I had PPI.
Is it illegal to claim if I never had PPI? What is to stop them saying I didn't (when I did)?
Sorry for the dumb questions

Thanks Moneyineptitude - most helpful.
2 more questions if I may. With HSBC, I have had numerous loans (paid off) and have no documentation reference to them.
- How would I go about getting the account information?
- I also had an overdraft with them, would these be separate claims?0 -

Is there anyone I can call first to try and get this info? Maybe pop in to my local branch?0

Ok, about to fill out the SAR request.
Will the docs returned cover all accounts/loans/overdraft etc they have for me (I have 2 accounts with them) or do I need to send 2 SAR letters?0
