Of those who were making new claims for PIP - who were not terminally ill.
From April to December 2013 - there have been 220 thousand claims.
Of these, 34 thousand decisions have been made.
Or - put another way - for all claims made since April - less than one in six has been completed.
New decisions do not seem to have been made in a meaningful manner before October - and even then they start at a ludicrously low rate, before somewhat picking up through December.
The rate of new claims decided in Nov-Dec is _HALF_ the total new claims submitted during that period.
It is hard to call such ridiculous underperformance 'failure'.

That is shocking, and I see there is yet another enquiry about the performance of ATOS and ESA.......:wall:
All this extra expense for taxpayers, and all the extra stress caused to claimants - all for nothing that is actually working!

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

It was bad in some respects, but then after Professor Harrington got involved, it did improve, which wasn't difficult.
However, since then, it has got worse, as he was replaced, and what with audits, the PIP chaos, endless appeals and the backlog, it has descended into delays and chaos.

it is terribly inadequate.
but is anyone else suprosed at the number of applications?
it equates to almost 300,000 new disability claims per year.
is that the usual amount of new xlaims that would have been expected for DLA?0 -
Those figures include what would have been DLA reviews, as all are classed as 'new claims'.

Well at least PIP is working albeit very slowly.
Other than those that are not special claims, 37% actually managed an award. That is approx. 10% lower than what it was under DLA.
63% failed to get any award!! Speculative claims on no realistic basis???0 -

How short sighted of you. It's possible (as is the same with ESA) that they went to tribunal and then won, or had a reconsideration and won. Would be interesting to see if there are any stats on this.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
