  • well, finally did the deed thurs!

got to court for 12pm went thru my paperwork till 12.45, got let off with court fees as my income for being in a couple with two kids is below 20k. so that was good!

was gonna see the judge then but they have a lunch break 1-2!

so went to maccys for some dinner, didnt eat much but there you go!

went back to the judges waiting room, got called in straight away! nevermind wanted to get it out of the way quick anyway!

judge was fine, just read my document, nodded thru my explanation, then said "those consolodation loans cause problems for a lot of people". he then stamped some paperwork, said i was BR as of 14.09, and i could go!

went back to the clerk to pass on a file, then left to go home!

all in all, pretty painless. when people say the worrying is worse they are bang on, but when your on this side its obviously easier to say that!

OR rang today, seemed ok, got my interview first week of november, so after that i should be home and dry! i have my wifes car, live in housing association, so not got any assets really!

does the OR look thru 2 WHOLE years of paperwork, as i aint got a clue what i spent alot of my money on! mind you, it was £16500 in the end, so probably not the biggest amount OR has ever dealt with!

for those of you worrying, just get it booked, get it done with and start afresh!

also thanks to everyone for there help over the months! i'll let you know how the OR interview goes!

    cheers!

Well dn1 - you've got the worst bit out of the way. I'm sure you'll have no problems with the OR - yes they can be a bit thorough, and are very good at focusing on things that are a 'bit hazy' in your memory, but their job is not judgemental and unless you get the 'OR from hell' it should be a straightforward interview.
Then you can get on with your life.
    Well done and Good Luck.

    Well done.

Sometimes an OR asks for 12 months statements etc and sometimes 2 years. Depends on your case really. It's nothing to worry about, since any they want that are missing they get direct from the bank themselves.

Good luck with the interview (but most people don't need it).:D

  • well just an update!

been waiting for today so i could get it out of the way! OR interview lasted 34 minutes, just asked the questions like what did you spend money on, when, what for etc. nothing too detailed. i have sent him loads of statements though from years ago!hope they all tally in with what ive said!
i said i realised i needed to do something about my finances aug/sept time, as we were having difficulties since the birth of my second daughter to get by. he seemed fine with this, asked me a few questions about what i did at work etc. then said may get early discharge in 10 months but not 100%. no ipa as my wage is too low, but will have to pay my tax direct to their agents.

i asked if i would hear off him again, he said only if there was anything they found out that i hadnt told him!

dont think i missed out on anything though! hope not anyway!

thanks to everyone for their help and support, its been so useful using this site, even for browsing at other peoples situations! and, i know its easy to say it on the other side, but dont worry about the court and OR, they really are friendly and no way intimidating!

anyway, onwards and upwards! just glad i can now get my life back on track!

    cheers, adam.
