After using the eligibility check the Santander card showed up as a10% chance, so I didn't think I'd be able to get it. However, as I bank with them I went in and asked - I was accepted worth a large enough amount to be able to transfer all my existing card amount over. Would also like to say thanks for suggesting getting a 123 card as in the 6 months I've had it I'm up £45 after taking off the annual fee!
Next thing on my list is to buy a car as mine's just been written off so I'm scouring the site for tips on getting the best deal possible.0 -
Applied for the Bank of Scotland balance transfer card, whole process took less than 10 mins to acceptance with 0% for 24 months and a credit limit of £11k (far more than I need). Set-up direct debit for the minimum payment at the same time :-)
Thanks MSE - should save about £100 a month in interest

Bank of Scotland* - 24mths, 1.5% fee Joint longest lower fee long term transfer card
The Bank of Scotland* credit card is pretty much identical to the Lloyds one above - two years interest-free, for a pretty low fee.
This and Lloyds are both great options, as you get a 0% period close to the longest, but pay nearly half the fee of the 'long 0%' cards above.0 -
Applied for the Santander 0% on purchases for 18 months card just over a week ago. On Friday a pin number arrived, so I assumed I had been accepted.
Today the credit card arrived with a £6800 credit limit. MSE checker before I applied said I had a 90% chance of acceptance, so it looks like they were right.0 -
Applied for the MBNA Platinum Credit Card, advertised as 0% on balance transfers and money transfers for 29 months.
Was accepted with £4,400 credit limit and transferred my overdraft of £1,250 on to the card.
When I've activated the online banking I've realised that rather than 29 months, I have 20 months 0%.0 -
I applied for the 31-month Barclaycard offer, but was only given a 15-month BT.
When activating my card, I complained about this and was transferred to the English call centre.
The guy on the phone could not extend the offer, so said he would waive the fee instead.
And because of the MoneySupermarket offer of a reduced fee from 3.5% to 2.99%, I will get this reduction as a credit.
I also get the £25 for opening the card through the link.
Pretty good deal, no?0 -
Applied for the Nationwide Select BT card yesterday, got instant acceptance, almost twice the credit limit I was expecting and the rate I applied for - 26 months 0% on balance transfers and 15 months 0% on purchases.
It also has perfect exchange rates on overseas transactions. I won't be taking advantage of the 0.5% cashback on UK spending as I can get up to 4% elsewhere.
The money not spent paying off the existing balance will go into an account earning 4%.0 -

If you've recently applied for a balance transfer, did you get the deal you went for, or did you get a lower number of 0% months, or even recommended to take out a different card with the provider?
Please report your experiences here - what was the deal you went for? Which lender was it? And what deal did you end up with?

Thanks, folks.
Had two balance transfer offers from Barclaycard and MBNA recently. I applied for the MBNA offer as it was slightly better and got it.
If you are talking about new applications for a card with balance transfer offrt then you may want to make that clearer in your original post.0
