Entitled to benefits after maternity leave ends ?

Hi, my wife has just finished her maternity leave (we have a 10 month baby) and is now in college doing 3 days a week, she qualifies in June. I am in full time employment. Is my wife entitled to any benefits ?

Thanks.

Don't think so to be honest, if she is at college she is not job seeking.

    So no JSA.

    Not sick so no ESA

    What is household income?
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Child benefit. Put it in her name so she gets home responsibilities protection, I think it's called. This means she'll get credits towards her pension.

If you only have one child and your income is below £26000, you may get tax credits.

if not seeking work ir sick/disabled, your wife has no entitlement to benefit in her own right ( apart from child benefit if you earn less than 60k)
BUT if you wage is low, then you nat qualify for working/child tax crdits based on household income

As well as working full time I also run another business from home so I can do that to increase income. That just means I'm doing double days, however my wife will argue that is 10 times easier than part time college and looking after baby the rest of the time ;)
