My daughter bought me this for Christmas:

The trouble is, I don't really knit or do crochet so am trying to think what else it could be used for. It is lovely and I don't want to return it to the shop or sell it but it has been sitting there, unused since Christmas.
She also bought me a large wooden sewing box from John Lewis so I don't really need it to store sewing bits.
So, any ideas would be appreciated. It is the sort of thing that should not be put away in a cupboard but enjoyed for the pretty item it is but I also want it to be useful.

I looks like it could hold a good few loos rolls on end, keep on the windowsill?
Or put a plastic bag inside and three small pots with plants.
Or store spare plastic bags in it, we have a plastic bag tax, if you don't, you probably soon will!
It s very pretty, I agree it would be a shame to just put it in a cupboard.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -

Thanks, some nice ideas there. I particularly like the idea of putting 3 small pots with plants in it. They would look nice on a window ledge.
Not sure if we have plastic bag tax here or not, I know we have to pay for them in some shops. We rarely get them as we have lots of bags for life or jute bags, ever handy.0 -
I think the plant pot idea is a lovely one, it would be a shame not to have it on show.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140
