Hi everyone. Thanks LPS for kickstarting day!
Not been on for a few days. Here are my measly things for 2day:
Do surveys (fed up of being rejected)
Check nectar points.
List a few bits and bobs on ebay (so and so's want it for nothing though)
Sort out OH's wardrobe (while he's not around to put it all back)
Elongate rubber chicken even further with pie for freezer, soup &
stock :rotfl:
Fit new thermal blind in bathroom  (without cracking too many tiles hopefully).
4 NSD's for me so far since Saturday - (feeling smug)
Snuggle up with kindle with onesie and duvet - no heating allowed until 6.00 p.m. today)Debt at LBM £60k (July 09) Jan14 £5k Feb14 £4615

Morning all,
Well, vague thoughts of getting out in garden scuppered by all morning-long wazz down of rain, which is now turning to snow. Oh joy!!
Today's small things on the economising front:
*Did laundry overnight on Economy 7, 30 deg, Mrs Scrooge with powder. All on heated airer.
*Reloaded washer for final load of the week tonight.
*Shared bath water rather than waste all that hot water straight down the plughole.
*Make winter vegetable crumble using leftover butternut squash, may possibly have enough to make a pasta sauce for the freezer too.
*Freeze 2 portions of the curry I made yesterday.
*Make bread & oatcakes.
*Did ebay re-listings. Free listings today for 5-day auctions, items which are £1 min.
*Continue knitting project. I did do yesterday's knitting quota so have set another one for today.
*Fill little plastic boxes with value dried fruit for work snacks (Much cheaper than buying those ready-filled little cardboard boxes)
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Do a competition.
*Do meal plans for the rest of February, prioritising what's in the freezer.
*Write shopping list as shopping day will be earlier this week while I have the car. (Whooo-hooo, wheels!!)
*Do surveys (Have also been selected -via Toluna, I think - as member of Heinz online forum, so signed into that & did some activities as would like to get my paws on at least one of their Amazon vouchers).
*Put my 'My John Lewis' card & February's cafe voucher in my purse while I remember, ready for free coffee & cake when we're in the city centre tomorrow.
*Try not to put downstairs heating on till 5pm, but it is very cold today, so I won't be silly about it. Have got extra layers on.
*Check Floodline website to see if our village is at risk yet. We are right on a major river & our area floods very badly, but so far, the poor people in the South seem to have copped the worst of it. Am definitely keeping an eye on the river levels though.
Right, lunchtime for me, then job list must resume.
DNMS - I really empathise re your job situation. It was years of just this kind of thing that gave me the final push to take VR. I don't regret my decision, but I'd have stayed if things had been different.....and VR has meant a big reduction in income, of course. Applying for one's own job is stressful enough (& often unfair as rules don't get applied consistently) but not getting a chance to do so is even worse. Thinking of you, anyway x

- Read up the energy saving post by foxgloves (I think?) a few days ago. I was reading on a mobile screen but there were some gems in there that I don't yet do. Interested in the heated airers - have seen these in lakeland before now - and also, if anyone has any tips on how to clean out thermos flasks to get rid of the flasky taste??? Trying bicarb of soda in the flask...
- Swagbucks - DONE. Just checked out another £5 voucher but haven't received the first one yet. Not sure what the process is really - both orders are stated as verified now...
- Staying in bed to do laptop things rather than put heating on! DONE
- Walking up to town (in rain) later - need to gradually build exercise in again after a few weeks laid up. Meeting DM for lunch at p-xpress using tescimo tokens
DONE and bought half my pizza home foe lunch 2mrw! - DD has offered to make bread this afternoon. We are new converts to this after hearing lots about it on here, and finding a (very out of date) granary flour in the storecupboard (it worked fine on Friday!) DONE, although its baking now (10pm!)
- paying guest coming tonight - need to tidy house and make bed for her. Ideally just a skim through as we had guests at the weekend too, so its not too messy! DONE, plus ironing too (latter courtesy of DM)
- In town - drop off application for residents pass to our local cathedral and go and get a stash of free leaflets from tourist information. DONE and Bob, I walked again!
- Make date for outlaws to come to us for dinner - saw them last night and they clearly are missing DD now they don't sit for her regularly
- Research holiday accommodation - cheap options that will minimise cost of traveling once we are there
- List items on Ebay - free listing today! Got burnt by p&p on last few bits
must do better research next time! - List items on Facebay
- DD has running tonight but more storms may mean she doesn't want to go (saving us £3!) She didn't!
- Update budgets and signature DONE
- Arrange DD for family loan (direct debit!!! not DD!) NOT DONE YET
- Ex keen to speak about money he owes me. Horay. Its not much but with more costs coming our way from school trips etc I will be glad if he keeps on top of it. DONE. AWKWARD AS EVER!
- Friend has been encouraging me to consider taking students in over summer. Need to work out cost/benefit of this. Existing paying guests don't need extra food beyond breakfast but only tend to book one or two nights at a time. But may be nicer for DD to have young people staying. Possibly worth a try. Didn't do sums yet
Did some of the biggies! Thanks Bob - I enjoyed my walk out yesterday. Its hard to know how quickly to push this recovery lark - but I did a much longer walk today so am hoping to be back to normal within a week or so. I am shattered now! But fresh air did me world of good. My nectar adpoints have dried up too now - I had to resort to watching that scary movie one twice! Gulp! Glad that wasn't on while DD was assisting me with them!! Best of luck to everyone for tomorrow - be it work, banking or business or family strife, hold your nerve!0
